About The Project
This project earned a 2016 VRCA Silver Award of Excellence and included the expansion of the existing Alexandra District Energy Utility (DEU) in Richmond, BC. Division 15 utilized extensive 3D BIM modeling and off-site fabrication which was completed concurrently with the erection of the structure in order to expedite the project delivery date.
We are proud to have earned the 2016 VRCA Silver Award of Excellence for this project.
The project scope included the installation of new supply and return mains, extensions from existing mains to two new fluid coolers and pumps. We also installed two new distribution pumps, providing new plant controls and expanding the District Energy Utility (DEU) piping to the existing geothermal system in the same neighbourhood.
Additional scope included the construction of one energy transfer station (ETS) in a new residential complex connected to the utility. The ETS was provided complete with brazed plate heat exchangers, and associated controls.
